The Bloomington Gold Corvette Show for 2009 might have the last Special Collection of the most rare Corvettes ever!

The Grand Finale, as it is so appropriately named, might be the last time Corvette enthusiasts from around the world might have the chance to see to most beautiful and rare Corvettes ever built. This is the 25th Special Collection in the 37 year history of the Bloomington Corvette show, and it looks like it might be the best!

No word yet on which Corvettes will be there, but here is a partial photo list of who Corvette Pete would invite to the show. The one and only Corvette SS, The original Corvette Stingray Racer that Dr. Dick Thompson drove to a SCCA national championship, a few 1963 Z06 Corvettes, How about all 5 Corvette Grand Sports! Wouldn't that be great! A reunion of the remaining 4 Sunray DX L88 Corvettes and the two Owens Corning L88 Corvettes that Tony DeLorenzo and Jerry Thompson drove to multiple International victories! The Rebel Corvette and its mate, the 1972 Le Mans L88 Corvette, and even perhaps a couple of John Greenwood BFG ZL-1 Corvettes. Now remember, it's up to the owners of these rare and unique Corvettes to graciously agree to bring their prized Corvettes to Bloomington. Rumor has it that there will be well over 50 rare Corvettes in attendance. Let's take a look:

We can't forget about the first L-88 Corvette built at
the St. Louis Missouri Corvette Plant, the Penske Sunoco Corvette:
